The indefatigable Victoria Beckham is teaming up with Kylie Minogue's songwriter in an effort to reclaim her title as the Princess of Pop. The former Spice Girl has joined forces with Cathy Dennis, who penned Kylie's smash hit Can't Get You Out Of My Head, in her latest attempt to top the charts.
The singer has apparently decided to ditch the songs she recorded with hip hop impresario Damon Dash last year. Her record company was said to be unhappy with sales of the double A-side they released, and opted to scrap the entire album as a result.
Music industry insiders say that if anyone can turn her fortunes around, however, it is Cathy. The prolific composer has already scored number one hits for Will Young, Rachel Stevens and Britney Spears.
A spokesperson for the inimitable Mrs Beckham has meanwhile confirmed that she is working with the musician. "Victoria is involved with Cathy Dennis at the moment and she's also talking to other writers," he confirmed. "We don't have a release date for a single yet, but it will be all new material and it will be pop. It's exciting stuff."
And it seems the singer's home in Britain is also getting a creative makeover. The Beckhams are having six 15ft Thai temples installed in the gardens of their Hertfordshire home. They spotted the "spirit houses" during a tour of southeast Asia last year, and decided they would be just the thing to brighten up the grounds of Beckingham Palace. The brightly coloured temples are said to keep evil spirits at bay.
