Alex Scott has kept much of her dating life secret, but she opened up about her previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Kelly Smith when she released her memoir, How (Not) To Be Strong, last year.
The former footballer shared details about their relationship, which lasted from 2005 to 2013, in the book revealing that Kelly was her "first love". Writing about it, she said: "For me, it's like that first love story, I fell madly and deeply in love. And yes, there's that heartbreak and those things, but it's a huge part of my life and I wouldn't go back and change that."
She added: "Because that feeling of love and that excitement and what it gives you, it needed to be in there."
Alex also opened up in the book about Kelly's battles with alcohol addiction and how it played a part in the breakdown of their relationship.

"Here I was, madly in love for the first time in my life, with an alcoholic. It didn't bode well," she shared.
Alex is currently single, and Kelly has gone on to find happiness with management consultant DeAnna Dobosz. The couple married in 2016 and together they share two children, son Rocco, five, and daughter Lucia, three.

The former Strictly contestant has made the decision not to label her sexuality, however, she has shown support to the LGBTQ+ community by wearing the OneLove armband at last year's Qatar World Cup.
Her wearing of the band came after members of the English and Welsh football teams opted not to wear them under threat of receiving penalties.
The former footballer has been open about hoping to find love again, telling Grazia last month: "I am single, but I'm ready to mingle… I struggle with apps. For me, it's all about connection, that instant connection with someone, and conversation, and then I'm like 'Oh, wow.'"
On the subject of marriage and children, she explained: "I would love that, but equally, if that's not the case then it's not the case. I'm going to be 40 in two years. I actually forget that."
And people are like, 'Oh, you need to start thinking about having kids.' I've always been that person like, 'No, I'm not ready. I'll know when I'm ready, when it feels right.'"
When asked about the possibility of starting a family on her own, Alex went on to say: "If I felt like that, and I got to a stage in my life – yeah. I get excited about actually being a mum. Yeah. I feel, as the years [pass], I'm getting closer to it. I know I feel that hard."
