Cara Delevingne's highly-anticipated collection of handbags for designer Mulberry went on sale on Monday morning. The Mulberry Cara Collection features three styles, each available in emerald, cobalt or grey camouflage, in various sizes. They can be carried as a rucksack, shoulder bag or hand-held thanks to detachable straps.
The 22-year-old model first caused a buzz in the industry when she unveiled her collection during London Fashion Week in February, in a woodland-themed presentation which saw her walk around barefoot and surrounded by a pack of dogs. The quirky model later stepped out for an exclusive dinner celebrating the launch, looking chic in a cobalt blue suit paired with black strappy heels. Sisters Poppy and Chloe also attended the dinner to show their support, joined by fashionistas including Jourdan Dunn and Kelly Osbourne. It wasn't the first time that Cara was linked to Mulberry – she starred in their Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign posing with a host of owls. The English beauty revealed that it was her previous ties to the brand that had prompted her to work on the collaboration.
"I hate that thing where celebrities just slap their name on any old thing," she revealed. "I don't ever want to do anything I don't have a connection with. Mulberry was the first bag I was ever given. Before that it was always fabric bags from India. I loved that bag and wore it to death." Despite reaching supermodel status and being a muse to Karl Lagerfeld, Cara has remained adamant that she will eventually move away from fashion into the world of acting. She is currently filming Tulip Fever, starring opposite the likes of Judi Dench.
