Victoria Beckham made her first appearance at London Fashion Week for an exclusive cocktail event at Winfield House on Tuesday night. The 40-year-old looked effortlessly chic in an elegant navy blue drop waist dress with ruffled detail, which she paired with her staple black stilettos.

Victoria took a minimalist approach to accessories, choosing simply one dazzling ring to complement her outfit, finishing off her look with sleek straight hair and a dramatic smokey eye. While husband David did not attend the party, Victoria cheerfully mingled with Burberry's creative director Christopher Bailey and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, as well as supermodels Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne. The former Spice Girl has kept a relatively low-key approach to LFW this season, but her notable absence on the front row could be due to her working to put the final touches before the launch of her flagship store in London's Mayfair. Victoria was spotted earlier in the afternoon heading to her new store to check on the progress at the building site, before heading to the glamorous party.

"I love retail," she said, speaking about her new store to Grazia. "I'll be taking appointments with people, maybe go behind the till. Who knows, maybe David will be on the door and Brooklyn will be a Saturday boy?" It's been a hectic few weeks for Victoria, who debuted her Spring/Summer 2015 collection at New York Fashion Week, with David and son Brooklyn watching from the front row. Victoria, whose latest collection included her first in-house range of shoes, shared a sweet note her family sent her following her successful catwalk presentation. "To Mummy, Good luck, we are very proud, Love David, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper xxxx," read the supportive message.
