HELLO! Fashion Monthly's editor-at-large Hilary Alexander revealed what she considers when putting together her wardrobe as she talked to style queen Dawn O'Porteras part of TK Maxx's Style By Me debate. "“You have to have a laugh and enjoy fashion," said Hilary. "You don’t have to go out and absorb every single trend in a season, you can pick and choose…Find something you love and build your wardrobe around it.”
Fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes, known for her bold and striking designs, also joined in the debate, revealing that she admires people who don't follow the norm, as well as explaining why she opts for bright pink hair. "Individualism really flowers in this country," she said. "People come to the fashion week and you see them making their own statements – it's exciting. Pink is always in for me, I once dyed my hair brown and it lasted a week." Other panellists included vlogger Jim Chapman and celebrity stylist Andrew Davis. "For young people, following trends is the easy option," said Dawn. "But as you get older you realise what does and doesn't work for you. It's brave to step away from trends and embrace your personal style. It's easier said than done, but ignore the haters."
