Mila Kunis designs dazzling ring to celebrate motherhood

October 27, 2014

Mila Kunis has celebrated her new role as a mother by designing a chic ring with Marina B and Gemfields.

The American beauty and her fiancé Ashton Kutcher became parents for the first time in October when Mila gave birth to baby daughter Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher.

To celebrate the exciting milestone in her life, Mila has designed an 18-karat yellow gold ring featuring a sparkling Gemfields Zambian emerald.

"Carrying a child and bringing new life into the world marks the start of an incredible journey," the 31-year-old told Vogue. "Throughout history, every culture has its own way of recognising this extraordinary event, often with a gift for mother or child." The Black Swan  star, who got engaged to Ashton in February, revealed that careful consideration had gone into her choice of gem  when it came to the design process, before she settled on the dazzling green emerald.

"Precious green emeralds are traditionally symbols of motherhood, wisdom, and long-lasting love," she explained, before revealing that the proceeds from the collection of Motherhood Rings will go to the Gemfield Nkana Health Centre towards their maternity clinic. Mila is currently an ambassador for Gemfields, and starred in a black and white campaign for the brand shot by renowned fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh. "The latest Gemfields campaign was shot by Peter Lindbergh and it was incredibly natural," revealed the Jupiter Ascending actress.

"I think it was probably the most natural I’ve ever felt on a shoot! It was all about being free, present and totally at peace with nature and the environment."
