Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West saw a frenzy of high fashion outfits and breathtaking locations, however it was the couple's lunch with designer Valentino Garavani which particularly caught fans' attention. Now, details about the highly publicised visit have been revealed.
Vogue's editor-at-large André Leon Talley revealed that Kim first caught Valentino's eye when they met briefly at the 2014 Met Gala in May. André revealed that Valentino had found the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star 'so respectful' that he decided to throw her a lunch for her wedding.
"Oh my god! Valentino! I'd die!" was Kim's excited reaction. "Oh my god. Of course I want to have this lunch!" The Italian designer invited Kim, Kanye and the rest of the Kardashian clan to his 17th century chateau in Paris for a glamorous brunch ahead of the couple's nuptials. For the event, Kim chose a plunging, figure-hugging Valentino dress with embroidered khaki butterflies, and wore her hair into a faux bob as she pushed baby North along in her pram. According to André, Kim and Kanye 'had never seen such luxury' and were completely blown away by the stunning chateau. While Kim's wedding dress was designed by Givenchy, the secrecy surrounding her gown led to Valentino being initially tipped to be creating her gown after assistants were seen taking bags of Valentino designs to Kim and Kanye's Parisian apartment a few days ahead of the ceremony.
The speculation was further fuelled when later on the Kardashians stepped out all clad in head-to-toe Valentino, however it turns out that this was as a sign of respect to the designer. "The whole family went out to the Valentino boutique and bought and paid for every single outfit of every single member of the family, including Kim's grandmother," revealed André. "They had full-on Valentino, including Kanye." The family took to Instagram sharing countless photos of the grounds as they posed with the designer, with Kourtney describing the day as 'an unforgettable lunch' in the caption to a photo of herself and Kendall Jenner posing with the iconic designer.
