Rihanna is renowned for her fearless and edgy approach to red carpet fashion, however the 26-year-old opted for a more classic look as she hosted her first ever Diamond Ball on Thursday night. The Barbadian beauty channelled old Hollywood in a floor-length peachy pink satin gown by Zac Posen, with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a flared train.

There was not one hair out of place as Rihanna tied her black locks into a sleek and straight long ponytail, completing her ensemble with a dazzling Chopard necklace which featured a deep purple jewel, paired with oversized statement rings. The glitzy event, held at the Vineyard in Los Angeles, saw a star-studded guestlist with the likes of Kim Kardashian and Salma Hayek stepping out to support the We Found Love singer. Kim, who was joined by mum Kris Jenner for the evening, showed off her fashion-forward style credentials in a black leotard and black mesh dress by Alexander Wang for Balenciaga.

The 34-year-old completed the look with a floor-length black draped coat, and a pair of black strappy sandals. While Kim chose to keep her make-up to a bare minimum for a casual yet chic style, she added a hint of black tie glamour with a sleek high chignon bun.
The Diamond Ball was held to raise awareness for Rihanna's charity Clara Lionel Foundation, named in honour of her grandparents. The Diamonds singer was joined by her family for the charity gala, including her parents and grandpa Lionel. "#DiamondBall Day!!!!" Rihanna wrote earlier in the day on her Twitter account. "I'm so honored to be able to do something like this on behalf of my grandparents, Clara&Lionel, to you who are in need!"
