The beautiful actress kept her beauty look simple, wearing a chic low side chignon, copper eyeshadow and mauve lipstick. Marion Cotillard turned heads in a white Christian Dior Couture number that featured hundreds of cutout holes.

Onlookers were in for a surprise when Marion turned around – the dress featured a baggy back with a black, low-sitting belt making for a ruching effect. Felicity Jones, who is nominated for her role in The Theory of Everything, was every inch a fairytale princess in a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown. The actress made a departure from her usually demure style in favour of this show-stopping number with an embellished bodice and a full skirt.

Pale and interesting was the theme of the night, with Lupita Nyong'o, Karolina Kurkova, Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Watts all rocking muted colours. Lupita Nyong'o stunned in a Calvin Klein gown embellished to the max – she revealed to reports that it featured over 6,000 pearls.
