The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, is nearing the end of her official engagements before the birth of her second child. Which means, unfortunately for her legion of fashion fans, the end of Kate's maternity outfits.
Travelling to Hampshire on Tuesday with her husband Prince William to pay a visit to the Mons Barraks for the annual St Patrick's Day parade, Kate, who is eight months pregnant, shunned the tradition of wearing green, instead sporting a brown Catherine Walker coat.
Kate wore a brown Catherine Walker coat
She paired the elegant coat with a hat by Lock & Co and kept her brunette locks tied up into a chic chignon. Kate paid tribute to the Irish feast day with a gold shamrock brooch pinned to her chest that used to belong to Queen Alexandra. As we gear up for the arrival of the second royal baby, we take a look back at the last nine months in tribute to Kate's impeccable maternity style...
The royal has worn a series of elegant maternity ensembles
Kate has remained true to her elegant, sophisticated sense of style during her second pregnancy. Making her first appearance since announcing her pregnancy in September, Kate stepped out for an official engagement in October. The royal wore a grey checked Alexander McQueen coat dress that displayed the tiniest hint of a baby bump. Her second appearance was equally glamorous, despite still suffering from a rare morning sickness condition. The Duchess turned heads as she sported a glamorous gown by Jenny Packham to attend the Wildlife Photographer of The Year 2014 Awards Ceremony. Another outfit highlight was the stunning white MaxMara coat that she wore to visit the Spinnaker Tower in February and a chic brown silk Hobbs dress she sported to attend an event hosted by The Fostering Network. Towards the end of her pregnancy, Kate turned to the wardrobe she sported during her first pregnancy with Prince George. She recycled a coat by Alexander McQueen for the annual Commonwealth Observance service in March and rewore a dalmation-print coat from high-street store Hobbs as she attended an engagement in the seaside town of Margate.
