Kanye West beats Chanel for most viewed collection

Kanye West has beaten Chanel for having the most viewed collection of Fashion Month. Kim Kardashian's husband received over a million more page views than the iconic French fashion house for his Kanye West x Adidas Originals designs unveiled during New York Fashion Week.

According to Style.com, Kanye received 4,578,461 page views for his collection, compared to Chanel who received 3,405,945. It is the first time since 2011 that Chanel has not taken the top spot for the most views after Fashion Month. While this is not the first time that Kanye, 37, has unveiled his creations on the catwalk, having showcased a ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week in 2012, it is the first time that he has featured in the top ten shows of the season. Kanye's presentation during New York Fashion Week came as a surprise to fans after the news was announced only a few days before the fashion extravaganza kicked off. The industry's biggest stars including Beyoncé and Jay Z, who are also close friends with Kanye, stepped out to see what the designer had to offer, with wife Kim and their daughter North West also stepping out to support Kanye.

Over at Paris Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld once again held a showstopping show, this time choosing a spectacular set in the form of a Parisian brasserie, named Brasserie Gabrielle to stick to the Chanel theme. The front row sat in booths with tables adorned with white tablecloths, while models including Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner showcased Karl's new creations. Once the show was over, guests were invited to take over the catwalk and enjoy coffee and pastries at the stylish bar. However, it seems that Kanye's unexpected collection for Adidas prompted more curiosity from fashionistas around the world. "I think this idea he has, which is essentially to bring good design to the masses, I do think it's the right idea at the right time," Style.com's editor-in-chief Dirk Standen told Fashionista, adding that 'people are responding to that'.
