Whitney Port shot to fame alongside Lauren Conrad on the reality TV hit The Hills back in 2006. On the back of the show's huge success, the stunning blonde landed a starring role in the spin-off show The City, which took her to New York.
There, she began working with Olivia Palermo, and the two were billed as rivals. But the 'feud' wasn't quite as dramatic as it appeared on screen, Whitney tells HELLO! Fashion Monthly in an exclusive interview. "She was always so nice to me," said the star, revealing that the producers of the show had planned to pit the two women against each other from the start. "The executive producer for The Hills, who then went on and did The City, told me that initially he thought Lauren and I weren't going to get along," she tells us.
"He hoped that, but actually it turned out we became good friends. So then, for The City, I think, they knew... 'We're going to make it, Whitney's a fish out of water in New York City. And Olivia's got her act together.' She's like a girl about town so they wanted that whole dichotomy between us." We also asked Whitney whether she would consider a 'Whitney and Olivia' show - the answer wasn't quite what we'd expected! To find out and read the full interview, pick up a copy of HELLO! Fashion Monthly, in stores now.
