George Clooney lookalike causes stir on Instagram

A male model who looks just like movie star George Clooney has become a social media sensation. Guillermo Zapata, who hails from Buenos Aires, has posted several pictures in which the likeness to the actor is uncanny.

The 45-year-old, who began his career as a model in 1989, has caused a social media frenzy after fans began to notice his resemblance to George, particularly in his modelling photos when he sports outfits similar to the actor such as tailored suits. He has since gained thousands of followers with his fan base continuing to grow. The slick entrepreneur has already firmly established himself amongst the elite as he co-owns the world-famous SUR restaurant in West Hollywood, California with his French wife Natalie Pouille-Zapata, with whom he has two daughters. The award-winning restaurant boasts more than 8000 square feet and is renowned as one of the trendiest spots in the star-studded city. Other owners include The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd.

Despite his already packed schedule, the suave Argentinian appears to be following in his A-list counterpart's footsteps and is pursuing a career as an actor. Not only has he started in a handful of films including Land's End, but he has also made appearances in television series and national commercials. He also made a guest appearance on Lisa's reality show Vanderpump Rules which gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse in the SUR kitchen. His most recent project also sees him take a leaf out of George's book. Guillermo made his debut as a producer in 2013 with the short film Tango Amargo, in which he also played the starring role.
