The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, has given birth to a little princess, meaning fashion fans must prepare to say goodbye to her stylish maternity wardrobe. However, there is still one more special outfit left to make its debut – her 'leaving hospital' ensemble.
Kate sported a cornflower blue Jenny Packham dress to introduce Prince George to the world
The eyes of the world will be trained on the royal as she appears on the famous steps of the Lindo Wing carrying her second baby. It will be an iconic moment in British history – the pictures of William and Kate introducing Prince George to the world in 2013 went around the world in minutes.
Kate has been spotted wearing Seraphine's 'Florrie' dress several times now - perhaps she will recycle it
Last time, Kate wore a bespoke cornflower blue Jenny Packham dress with polka dots – an outfit that was praised for its feminine fit. Many wondered whether Kate had matched the colour to the sex of her first child. If so, it's possible she will wear pink or blue again this time round.
Diana, Princess of Wales, wore red to introduce her second baby, Prince Harry, to the world
The striking brunette is bound to opt for a maternity style, so the chosen dress may come from Kate's favourite maternity brand Seraphine. It's possible that Kate might recycle one of her dresses – she is a particular fan of the label's floral Florrie print dress – but considering how momentous the appearance will be, it's more likely that she will wear a new creation. She will probably pair whichever dress she does choose with her trusty LK Bennett wedges and, of course, her signature glossy blowdry. The polka dot blue dress Kate wore to leave the hospital with Prince George bore a strong resemblance to the green polka dot dress that William's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, wore to leave the hospital with William in 1982. After Diana gave birth to Prince Harry two years later, just like Kate, she introduced the little one to the world wearing a red dress, red coat and matching shoes. With this in mind, Kate may well follow suit and opt for something in red, or another bright colour. Which do you think she will wear to leave the hospital? Leave your comments in the box below!
