There's no doubt that Alexa Chung is the ultimate fashion It girl. Not only is she a modern day style icon with her effortlessly cool outfits, she has also collaborated with the world's most high-profile designers creating dazzling capsule collections. However, despite being immersed in the industry, the 31-year-old has revealed that she still struggles to talk about fashion.

"I don't know really what to talk about with clothes," she told Grazia. "I'm alright designing and wearing them, but when I have to talk about them I feel like I'm in an art class, kind of like 'well this represents sadness' so I'm just going to give you the names of them."
It seems that the British beauty is being modest rather than lacking the knowledge – her sharp sense of style has made her one of the industry's most respected muses, and she admitted that when she was a model she already had her own opinions about fashion design.
"I actually used to do this for French connection," she said, talking about modelling. "I kept wanting to be like 'don't do black, do it in red,' and they'd be like 'you're fired'."

Nowadays, Alexa's voice doesn't go unheard. Whether she's gracing the cover of countless high fashion magazines or taking her place on the front row at the biggest shows at Fashion Week from Chanel to Topshop, Alexa has become a firm fixture in the industry.
It's already been an exciting few months for Alexa, who kicked off the new year in style surrounded by friends Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof and Nick Grimshaw while holidaying in the Maldives.
The celebrity circle of friends had a ball in the idyllic sun-soaked setting, sharing photos of their fun-filled break in the tropical playground before heading back just in time for Fashion Week.
