George Clooney 'quits Tom Ford's new movie'

Fans of both fashion and film were delighted to hear the news earlier this year that actor George Clooney was set to produce fashion designer Tom Ford's new movie Nocturnal Animals. But Tom and George are set to have had a disagreement, leading to George no longer being involved in the project."Ford is in Cannes because George Clooney was to produce the movie through his Smokehouse Pictures with Grant Heslov. But they had a huge falling out over creative issues a few weeks ago, and Clooney is no longer involved," a source told PageSix.com.

However, when the publication approached George for comment, he denied a disagreement. "No falling out at all," he said. "It was just scheduling. Grant and I love the project and think Tom is fantastic. We just couldn't do it when he needed to go. "Nocturnal Animals will star Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams. It is designer Tom's return to directing following his 2009 A Single Man. It is a novel adaptation that follows two parallel stories, one about a man whose family holiday descends into chaos, and the second about a woman looking back on her failed marriage.

Tom recently revealed to WWD that despite his highly successful career in the world of fashion, he was still keen to step into the world of directing once more. "I have a few I could do if I had the time to shoot them," he said, talking about films. "Yes definitely, I'd be very sad if I didn't make more films. "The designer also sparked speculation that he was working on a book-to-film adaptation at the time after he compared the two art forms. "A book is a book; a film is a film," he said. "They are totally different things. Sometimes things are subtle in a book because there's an inner monologue with the character, and turning it into a film, you don't have that inner monologue – unless you do, which I don't love. "You have to have something personal; you have to take what speaks to you about a book and amplify that. It's impressionism, in a way."
