Two generations of modelling met on the catwalk in Paris on Friday, as both Kendall Jenner and Naomi Campbell walked for Givenchy. Wearing a satin pink Twenties-inspired gown with long fringing and knee-length black boots, Kendall, one of the so-called "Instagirls" showed off her model credentials with an unwavering gaze as she strode down the catwalk.

Naomi, meanwhile, looked every inch a modelling legend as she showed off her enviable figure in black stockings and a black and white stripe blazer, alongside various necklaces, including one large key.

Sitting in the front row was Kendall's supportive mum, Kris Jenner, who was joined by her boyfriend, Corey Gamble.

Naomi has previously opened up on the new generation of models, saying: "I just feel like my generation of women, like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Claudia [Schiffer], we had to earn our stripes and take our stepping stones to get to where we have gotten, to accomplish what we have achieved to this date."

During an appearance on The Meredith Viera Show in January, she added: "I kind of feel like, 'My God, we've worked so hard and we are still working at it, then it just comes like that for them.' But I sometimes believe 'easy come, easy go'.

"So I am actually grateful for the way I had my career. I wouldn't want it any other way. So that's for them, this is me."

With emerging supermodels such as Kendall Jenner currently counting over 18million followers on Instagram, the world of social media has allowed the new generation of models to share everything with fans, from backstage photos to sneak peeks at upcoming campaigns.

Nicknamed the 'Instagirls', models such as Kendall, Cara Delevingne, and Karlie Kloss continue to build their ever growing fan base with photos from both their professional and private lives.

Naomi however is not the only supermodel to have previously spoken up about the way social media has changed the world of modelling. Cindy Crawford also recently revealed that she felt that apps such as Instagram have changed the way models can build up their careers.

"Because of social media, so many of the girls today, like Coco Rocha, Lily Aldridge, Georgia may Jagger and Cara Delevingne, are brand-building," she told Violet Grey. "When I started modelling, there was no language for that."
