North West may be hailed as one of the world's most stylish toddlers, but mum Kim Kardashian revealed she had to put her foot down when the mini fashionista chose a rather unconventional outfit. The Keeping up with the Kardashians star shared a photo on Instagram of her little girl looking angry after being told she would have to change.

Kim Kardashian saw the funny side when North West refused to change her outfit

In the picture, little North has decided to wear a blue unicorn-shaped backpack, a pink Minnie Mouse helmet, completing her look with a bright green umbrella featuring a floral pattern.

"The struggle is real!" Kim captioned the photo, clearly seeing the funny side as her daughter appeared annoyed at not being able to wear her quirky outfit. "We cannot go out of the house like this!!! LOL."

The style icon, who is married to rapper Kanye West, quickly resolved the issue, agreeing to let North go out with a few of her chosen accessories – however the pink polka dot helmet was left at home.

"We compromised," she wrote alongside a photo of North triumphantly walking down the street with the colourful umbrella and backpack.

Kim and North eventually compromised before heading out

It's no doubt been a hectic few weeks for Kim and Kanye, who are expecting their second child together in a few months. The mum-to-be revealed last month that she has been talking to little North about families to try and prepare her for her new role as a big sister when the little baby boy arrives.

"I don't know if North really understands she's getting a baby brother yet. We read books at night with stories about big sisters, and baby brothers, families," Kim told MailOnline.

"I'm sure she'll come to the hospital and meet him, that's what Kourtney did with her kids so I'll take advice from her."

The 34-year-old also didn't rule out welcoming another sibling for North in the future. "I've always said if I had a boy, I would be done with a boy and a girl. But this pregnancy has been a little bit easier, but I won't really know until later on if I can have another one, it depends on my delivery, so hopefully I'll be able to have another one – I wouldn't mind it."
