Cheryl Fernandez-Versini shrugged off recent criticism about her weight as she stepped out with a dazzling smile for her first X Factor 2015 audition appearance. The popstar beamed as visited Manchester for the first round of auditions wearing a £345 black crop top with eyelet details from designer Mugler and wide-leg trousers.

She was joined by new judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw in the city. Not one to blend in, pop princess Rita wore a fire-engine red dress with a giant gold belt buckle cinching in the waist, accessorizing with thigh-high red patent boots.Head judge Simon Cowell put on a brave face as he made an appearance just days after his mother Julie passed away at the age of 89.

Auditions had been scheduled to begin on Monday, but were cancelled in light of Simon's loss.Cheryl recently hit back at criticism over her weight loss, slamming an Instagram followers who remarked that she looked like a 'bag of bones'."Bag of bones you looked so much healthier in the early girls aloud days with ur lovely curves," they wrote.Cheryl was quick to respond: "I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thing or a 'bag of bones'. I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake? What is the difference? You have no idea what I have been through. Just losing my father in law recently and everything that comes with that. Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone.
