Meeting our cover star Miranda Kerr was an absolute delight. I'd been invited to Innsbruck, Austria, for the launch of the Australian supermodel's first jewellery collection for Swarovski and we prepared for the usual PR spiel about the collaboration.The first hint this was going to be a bit different came when I opened a welcome gift box in my room, filled with little cards bearing positive mantras such as 'radiate your light', 'follow your passion' and 'live with confidence'.HELLO! These are the beliefs this spiritual beauty lives by (she carries a laminated prayer card in her handbag), and which informed her designs. "I wanted to create something meaningful; something uplifting or inspiring whether you’re buying it for yourself or someone else,” she told me as she fiddled with the delicate rose gold Evil Eye chain around her neck.Clearly, the Swarovski team was impressed by Miranda’s attention to detail and involvement in the design process – the next phase in what creative director Nathalie Colin describes as a "long love story" with the brand’s first celebrity muse. Oh, and she was sweet enough to give this smartphone rookie a selfie lesson (see below)!
It’s always exciting to witness fresh talent, particularly when you know someone’s career is just about to take off. We had fun going back to ‘school’ with the young British actresses making a splash on our screens, both big and small – Hannah Tointon, Sarah Winter, Christina Chong, Lucy Chappell and Georgina Campbell.
