Gigi Hadid is known for her enviable physique that has seen her rocket to fashion stardom. But when she first started out in the modelling industry, the 20 year old was told by some agencies that she needed to lose weight.“When I first went to visit different agencies in New York, a lot of them were like, you have to lose a lot of weight,” she told the Daily Mail Australia.

“I would cry at night and my mom [Yolanda Foster] would be like, “We’re going to find the [right] people.”Not willing to change her body shape, Gigi eventually signed with IMG Models and was quick to make a name for herself in the industry.“It’s funny because once you start to embrace what you have, it starts to be what you’re known for,” she said.

“I’m kind of the model that everyone thought would always be the Guess, Sports Illustrated girl, then when I started to do high fashion stuff, people were like, “Oh so we can have a girl with like thighs and a butt in a Tom Ford campaign, cool.”She added: “And then all of a sudden the high fashion people wanted to work with me and that’s kind of how it works, if you just embrace yourself other people accept you in the same way.”Embracing her body was important for Gigi, who said she wants to be “a healthy role model”.However, the daughter of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda revealed that she is partial to a burger - or two.“I have a burger a couple of times a week, I eat a lot of burgers and for the first two weeks I lived in New York I tried a new burger like almost every week to find the best burger in New York,” she said.Gigi certainly looked incredible when her role in Calvin Harris’ new video was revealed earlier this week.

It's not the first music video Gigi has starred in – she appeared in the footage for Taylor's revenge anthem Bad Blood alongside Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Jessica Alba, Ellie Goulding and Cindy Crawford.
