Gisele Bündchen may be used to strutting down the runway, but now the supermodel has shown off her moves in a new TV advert for Stuart Weitzman. Directed by the legendary Mario Testino, the 35-year-old shows off her toned figure as she busts a move wearing a monochrome leotard and a pair of black ankle boots.
Gisele shows off her dancing skills in a new advert for Stuart Weitzman
The 30-second clip, titled Make That Move, will air during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and will see the Brazilian beauty dancing with a group of back-up dancers in a studio, in a routine that echoes Beyoncé's iconic dance in her music video for Single Ladies.
However, Stuart revealed that it was actually another pop diva who inspired him to get the supermodel to dance in his shoes for the advert.
"This year, Taylor Swift asked for like, a dozen pairs for all of her changes [during her 1989 World Tour]," he told WWD. "I went to her show in Philly and I was floored. She's big with all the 15-year-olds but I wrote her a note that says, 'You now have a grandfather as one of your fans'. We make the shoes with extra-cushion so she can dance and thought, 'Hey, we can make dance shoes… maybe we should find some way to show them off.'"
Gisele announced she would be retiring from the catwalk earlier this year
Gisele has been staying out of the spotlight in recent months after announcing that she would be retiring from the runway.
"Automatically, my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop," she told Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo. "I respect my body, it's a privilege to be able to stop. I don't see how to continue modelling on the catwalk."
While the beauty will no longer be gracing some of the world's biggest catwalks, this doesn't mark the end of her highly successful career. Gisele, who is married to American football quarterback Tom Brady, revealed that she isn't leaving the world of modelling entirely. "Stopping will leave room for other projects I have for myself," she revealed.
