I never thought I’d say it, but I’m actually looking forward to chilly autumn. Not because I prefer the cold (I hail from Oz!), but because I can’t wait to snuggle into all the fabulous suede, shearling and shaggy faux fur coats that ruled the AW15 runways – from Lanvin to H&M.If you’re also turning your thoughts to how to cover up in style this season, then take inspiration from HFM’s bumper trends special, packed full of our picks from both the catwalk and the high street – together with must-read commentary from our editor-at-large Hilary Alexander.

There’s seemingly more choice than ever as designers continue to mine the past for ideas, whether entire eras – both the 70s and 80s are having a moment – or movements, such as Arts & Crafts, as personified by print maestro William Morris.
I particularly covet the geek chic look that both Prada and Gucci have so expertly reinterpreted for today. If your budget doesn’t quite stretch to a Miu Miu cardie (mine certainly doesn’t!), there are some fab offerings from high street stalwarts such as River Island and ASOS.
To give you the widest choice possible, we’ve also produced two completely different fashion shoots this month, which I hope you’ll agree nail the key trends of the season – from designer heritage prints and luxe artisan to geometrics and monochrome. And not forgetting the sumptuous boho-luxe high street looks – you have our full consent to indulge your inner hippy!Who better to grace our cover as we prepare for London Fashion Week than FROW regular and DJ darling Whinnie Williams. And what a pleasure it was to photograph her – she bowled everyone over with her natural charm and strong work ethic. She even managed to keep her cool – and sense of humour – when her poodle Brian somehow got his face stuck to a glue mouse trap (who knew there was such a thing?!).Happy browsing!PS: We’d love to hear what you think of HFM – tweet us @hellofashion_ukIf you are having trouble finding HELLO!
