Karlie Kloss pays sartorial tribute to Cindy Crawford

Karlie Kloss is one of the world's biggest supermodels, but she hasn't forgotten the icons who paved the way for stars like her. The 23-year-old paid a sartorial tribute to original 90s supermodel Cindy Crawford on Wednesday, rocking a black sweater emblazoned with Cindy's name.

The blonde beauty was the epitome of off-duty model chic, teaming the jumper with faded cropped jeans and black scalloped sandals, wearing her shoulder-length hair down and looking fresh-faced with a barely-there make-up look.

The former Victoria's Secret angel started her classes at New York University this week, and it seems that she had school on her mind when she chose her accessories, opting for a chic black leather satchel rucksack to carry all of her essentials.

Despite being used to the spotlight, Karlie revealed that she felt "nervous" on her first day at the prestigious institution. Taking to Instagram she posted a photo of herself outside the building, pointing to the school's iconic purple flag and beaming for the camera.

"I haven't been this nervous in years! #firstdayofschool," she wrote to her 3.1 million followers.

It's not the first time that Karlie has opened up about feeling the pressure as she enrolled at NYU.

"I'm really nervous about... the first day going back to school," she admitted during a video on her YouTube channel Klossy. "I'll be taking classes at NYU in the fall. So all I can do is know that when I get to school, that day, I'm going to do the best I can to just focus and prepare leading up to it, and it's going to be fine. I'll take it one day at a time."

It looks set to be a hectic few weeks for the star, as alongside her studies she will also no doubt be taking to the catwalk during Fashion Week, where in previous seasons she has been storming the runways for countless high fashion designers including Chanel, Versace and Marc Jacobs.
