Victoria's Secret model Yfke Sturm wakes up from coma after surfing incident

A Victoria's Secret model who was involved in a jet surf accident has woken up from a medically induced coma, an Italian newspapers has reported.The Dutch model, 33, was left with a fractured skull and severe spinal injuries after being hit by another rider near the island of Ischia in Italy last week.

The model has walked the famous Victoria's Secret catwalk twice

Yfke was riding a motorised surfboard when she fell into the water. As she was attempting to swim to shore, she was struck by another rider. She was then airlifted to hospital in Naples, where she is being treated by specialists.A spokesperson for Next Models, which represents Yfke in the UK, told The Telegraph: "We are shocked to hear about this terrible accident. Our thoughts are with Yfke and her family at this time and we are praying for her speedy recovery."

The blonde beauty, who has modelled for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Calvin Klein, gave birth to her first son Alexander just last month. He is thought to be the child of her French boyfriend, 24-year-old supermodel Constance Jablonski.Yfke has walked the Victoria's Secret catwalk twice during her career, in 2002 and 2005.
