Kendall Jenner has made Forbes' list of the world's highest-earning models for the first time. At 19 and with a pay packet of £2.5million last year, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star is the youngest model on the list. She joined the likes of Gisele Bündchen, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes Cara Delevigne and Kate Moss in the rankings.

It comes as no surprise that Kendall has established herself so firmly as one of the industry's most successful models. Ever since she made her Fashion Week debut last year, the American beauty has been walking for major shows including Givenchy, Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Fendi and Marc Jacobs.

Off the catwalk, Kendall has bagged major campaigns including Balmain and Calvin Klein, as well as signing her first major beauty contract with cosmetics giant Estée Lauder. Her social media presence, which includes 36.8 million followers on Instagram, is further proof that she is a force to be reckoned with.

Topping the prestigious list for the ninth consecutive year is Brazilian beauty Gisele, who had earnings estimated at £28million last year. She was followed by Cara and Adriana Lima on £5.7million. British fashion queen Kate is in 12th place, while Kendall comes in 16th.

Gisele, 35, shocked the industry earlier this year when she revealed that she would be retiring from the catwalk – although not from modelling altogether.

"Automatically, my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop," she told Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo. "I respect my body, it's a privilege to be able to stop. I don't see how to continue modelling on the catwalk."

Taking to the runway for the last time walking for Colcci as part of Sao Paulo Fashion Week, Gisele shared an emotional message ahead of her final show.

"I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey," she captioned a throwback photo of herself, with a Portuguese translation below for fans in her home country, Brazil. "Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business. #firstrunway #14yearsold."
