Lily Collins gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek into Chanel's Mademoiselle Privé exhibition on Monday, a day before it opened to the public. The Love, Rosie star looked every inch the ultimate Chanel girl clad in a black jumper and skinny jeans, teamed with a white ruffled blouse and patent white stilettos, echoing the label's iconic black-and-white look.

It proved to be a memorable trip for the young star, who discovered her portrait was hanging in the exhibition. "Shocked. Honored. Cloud 9," she captioned a photo of the image. "Thank you @chanelofficial. You've made my dream come true. #mademoiselleprivé…" Showing off her sense of humour, Lily quickly jumped in front of the portrait and re-created the pose for a tongue-in-cheek snap.

The Mirror Mirror actress made the most of her visit, sharing various photos as she explored the exhibition's three floors.

One particularly eye-catching photo saw the Hollywood starlet posing on a recreation of the iconic spiral staircase in Coco Chanel's Parisian appartment. Lily showed off her chic ensemble as she posed leaning against the banister, with the famous mirrored wall behind her. "Stairway to heaven," she captioned the photo. "I don't ever want to come down #Mademoiselleprivé."

Fashionistas have been eagerly awaiting the highly-anticipated exhibition, which promises fans that "Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel will present an enchanted journey through the House's creativity", according to a statement from the brand.

The presentation, for which admission is free, is set to include re-editions of the High Jewellery 'Bijoux de Diamants" collection from 1932, as well as a glimpse into Chanel Haute Couture and the label's iconic fragrance Chanel No.5.
