Louise Roe is judging the Joules welly competition
What are your top three essentials for any autumn wardrobe?
A great pair of boots, a wide-brim hat, and bright printed silk scarf to make the outfit pop.
What's your absolute favourite piece in your closet?
I have a vintage batwing top in copper and black that belonged to my Mum in the 1970s. It’s very Bianca Jagger, and it’s definitely seen some glamorous parties in its time!
What's the best style advice you've been given?
Again from my Mum: "You’re not a Christmas tree!" She said that to me when I was a teenager and overdoing everything, from accessories to make-up! Less is definitely more, I prefer a simpler, pared-down look now.

Which celebrity do you think has the best style?
I love the way Miranda Kerr dresses both on and off the carpet. She has an elegance to her, even when she’s wearing skinny jeans and ballet flats. And she doesn’t shy away from bright colour.
Do you have a favourite beauty icon?
Lauren Hutton, back in her heyday. And Ali McGraw too. They were so beautiful and natural, just a few freckles and loose, wavy hair. I also loved Yasmin le Bon growing up. I’ve still got one of her covers from 1992, thick dark eyebrows and a tan – gorgeous!
As a Brit, are there any British designers you particularly love?
Yes of course! I love Jenny Packham’s dresses, they are just exquisite. Holly Fulton’s prints, Sophia Webster’s heels.
Why did you decide to judge the Joules welly competition?
I love any opportunity to celebrate new design talent – getting people to show their arty side and have fun at the same time.
Louise revealed the Chelsea ankle boot is one of her favourite Joules AW15 pieces
What kind of things are you going to be looking for when judging the wellies?
Innovation and fun. A combination of eye-catching and something unexpected.
If you designed the welly yourself what designs and styles would you use?
I love bright colours, and I love motifs or patterns that might also have a message. I’d probably throw a hashtag in there somewhere!
What are your favourite pieces/must-haves from the Joules AW15 collection?
There is a cute brown Chelsea boot with a leopard print patch on it that is very cute, and I love their cosy sweatshirts too, perfect for travel.
