Golden Globes 2017 red carpet style predictions

January 6, 2017

Awards season will officially get underway on Sunday with the 74th Golden Globes Awards, and we can't wait to see what this year's nominees will wear on the red carpet.

With Natalie Portman and Emma Stone both up for awards and Anna Kendrick playing host it's set to be a stylish night. Ahead of their red carpet appearances at The Beverly Hilton hotel, we asked fashion stylist Jamie Frankel to predict what they might wear.

"I think there will be major inspiration taken from Gucci's most recent collections – perhaps a shift from structured gowns to more of a bohemian flair – appliques and embroidery, pleats, ruffles, gold foiling," Jamie told HELLO! about this year's red carpet fashion. "I think sleeves and belted dresses will definitely have some moments this awards season. I think we'll see an insertion of new colours such as pink and rose colours, metallics, deep eggplants and dusty blues."

THE MOST MEMORABLE GOLDEN GLOBES DRESSES

Read on for Jamie's red carpet style predictions…

Anna Kendrick:

"Anna works her femininity on the red carpet, sticking to flattering silhouettes and truly pretty gowns. I would love to see her in something a bit more flowy and bohemian for a change."

Emma Stone:

"She is not afraid to take fashion risks and with her nomination for La La Land which is very 'era-unknown', I think she will stay true to her ability to fuse modern trends with nods to the past, old Hollywood specifically."

Amy Schumer:

"Form fitting, tailored dresses look incredible on Amy. I love seeing her work it."

Priyanka Chopra:

"She is glamorous and womanly. I see her in a gold shimmering number that fits her body to perfection."

Natalie Portman:

"Playing such a fashion icon in Jackie, I think Natalie’s dress will definitely be influenced by her role. Classic, perhaps black and white, maybe with a shorter length as a nod to the early 60’s. Must be Chanel or Dior."

Sofia Vergara:

"I love when Sofia is in colour – it would be nice to see her in something appliqued or something with a bit more detail than she has worn in the past. But always form-fitting, always."
