Eudon Choi
One of the first shows to start off our fashion week was Korean born designer, Eudon Choi. Using Adolf Loos (Austrian and Czech architect and European theorist of the modern architectural movement) as his inspiration for his showing at London Fashion Week, Choi schooled us in straight-cut tailoring with a delicate, feminine edge. His AW17 collection was all about minimalism, simple masculinity constructed’ said Stephen Low (Neville hair and beauty for L’oreal Professionnel) which seems to be natural follow-on from the structured tailoring we have been seeing recently.
The models were androgynous with super sleek side-partings and a bold orange lip which perfectly complimented the bold orange hues and deep khaki greens shown on the catwalk. The Royal College of Art graduate is yet another designer to go for the See Now Buy Now fashion movement.
Bora Aksu
Next up was Central Saint Martin's graduate, Bora Aksu, who claimed inspiration from Victorian Suffragette Princess Sophia Duleep Singh. The result? Ethereal Victorian style prairie dresses filled with ruffles, sheer, tulle, silk and lace details. While structured, these softer fabrics gave the dresses a very delicate appearance, perfect for layering with a cosy cardigan as the weather cools. The mid-length prairie dresses had Aksu's romantic aesthetic but this time brought up to date with the AW17 season’s light pastels. The Turkish born designer also accessorised the models with Victorian millinery by Misa Harada, opaque tights and velvet, laced up boots which it seems we can expect to see a lot more of in the coming seasons!
London Fashion Week AW17: Everything you need to know
Ashley Williams
Inspired by Kate Bush’s ‘Under The Ivy’, NEWGEN Ashley Williams treated the crowd to a collection 'of clothes to sneak out of parties in'. Tapping into the athleisure trend with vibrant jersey tracksuits contrasted with cowboy hats and western inspired details. Staple pieces included puffa jackets, heavy knits and 2016’s prized possession, the bomber jacket. Sitting front row were age old fans of the brand, Daisy Lowe and Pixie Geldof.
Sadie Williams
As we got to evening, Sadie Williams’ presentation brought everyone back to life! Whilst remaining bright and true to her typically striking style, Sadie’s latest collection showed a progressive development from her SS17 BUOY presentation and a nod to skirts rather than trousers. She also demonstrated a range of contrasting fabrics and primary colours with a hint of athleisure and luxe. Our personal favourite being the sequined hoody layered with pinstriped metallic pinafore, somehow it works!

Charlotte Simone
Hosted in The Vinyl Factory in Soho, Charlotte Simone brought her fun loving flair to LFW. The presentation featured her new line of new coloured popsicle scarves, as well as a preview of her new collaboration with Superga, full of what you would expect from the young designer with pink fluffy drop back trainers and whit fluffed up laced platforms. The HFM Fashion Spin star also debuted fluffy kangol bucket hats and, a firm favourite of the evening, a furry teddy bear backpack. Models were given a natural look with hair by Matthew Curtis and styled with sportswear to compliment the fur.
With Chelsea Leyland on decks and guests entertained with free prosecco cocktails the party was still bustling until late and the perfect end to Day 1 but for those of us heading to LFW Day 2, it was bed time!
