London Fashion Week AW17: HFM Diary Day 4

February 21, 2017

Day 4 of London Fashion Week AW17, and what a week it has been! As the fourth and final day for HFM coverage, it certainly delivered with an array of different designers that all show how fun fashion should be. With the biggest trends focusing on elaborate detailing, ruffles, cut outs and seemingly, each and every shade of pink, we're excited to start wearing it all!

Shrimps

The Shrimps AW17 presentation continued with designer Hannah Weiland's playful approach to fashion. Having made her name with bold prints and colours, this collection proves again that ethical fashion does not have to be boring. Shrimps' signature faux-fur coats this time featured leopard print, stripes and illustrations, as well as more neutral colours paired with embellishment detailing. Models were styled with elaborate materials including a Victorian style pink dress embroidered with doodles, conservative mid-length A-Line skirts updated with ruffling details or playful prints. Fans of the brand Pixie Geldof and Chelsea Leyland were also spotted wearing the Adelaide coat as they attended Day 4.

OSMAN

Held at the ICA in London, the OSMAN AW17 show celebrated of women, colours and texture all beautifully tailored as only Osman Yousefzada knows how. Tied in with the trends that have been rife this fashion week: ruffles, bold prints and a focus on contrasting textures, the show demonstrated how to have fun with fashion but still look good. With a deliberate diversity in casting, models of all ages, religions and ethnicities were given a neutral base with either a bold lip or bold eye.

Ashish

The perfect show to give hope to a heartbroken America, Indian designer Ashish sent a clear message that unity, individuality and diversity were to be celebrated… with glitter. With styling by Anna Trevelyan at CLM, make-up by Maybelline New York and Hair by L'Oreal, the results were stunning. Models with colourful skeletal face painting dressed head to toe in sequins and all things shimmery walked slowly on a yellow brick road made completely of glitter (with added scattering when all guests were seated).

Motivational motifs and slogans complimented 90's sportswear, mini dresses and high school bomber jackets as Ashish revealed his collaboration with Major League Baseball and LA Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs to 'bring together the male aesthetic translated in the most feminine way'.
