Jennifer Lawrence is the face of Dior’s new campaign

Jennifer Lawrence is back as the face of Dior for the label’s Fall 2017 campaign. In the black-and-white portraits shot by much-loved French photographer Brigitte Lacombe, the actress stands with her hands in her pockets, her gaze fixed firmly on the camera. Showcasing a number of relaxed yet refined ensembles, the 26-year-old Oscar winner looks nonchalant and achingly chic.

Dior’s slogan T-shirts are the main focus of the collection and the beautifully styled images capture Jennifer working them in three different ways. Loose, raw-edged denim lends a hint of come-as-you-are attitude to the shots while the tailored black jacket keeps things feeling nicely pulled-together. Strong accessories deliver added edge, from layered chokers and necklaces heavy with bird and star pendants, to high-shine court shoes and the French fashion house’s iconic bags in quilted black leather.

With her hair in a simple, low-slung chignon and her face glowing with little more than a hint of natural makeup, Jennifer’s beauty look has a classic Parisian feel – polished yet somewhat undone.

STORY: Jennifer Lawrence wows in first TV advert for Dior

The star joined the Dior cast in 2012 and has since posed in a black trouser suit for a slick campaign photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, and appeared looking pretty in pink in the overtly glamorous Dior Addict beauty ads. The new shots take on a decidedly different feel from ones we’ve seen her in before. Designer Maria Grazia Chiuri has voiced her desire to reinvent the label so as to appeal to the modern woman, and the images, which manage to capture the sort of easy elegance we all wish to possess, do exactly that.

The Dior Fall 2017 campaign: Effortless style with a strong feminist message

The stand-out piece from Chiuri’s second Dior collection is none other than the "We Should All Be Feminists” T-shirt that made its debut in autumn last year. Jennifer rocks the statement-making tee with an embellished cross-body bag, looking very much herself. This campaign is not the first time the actress has taken a stand against gender inequality – she’s hosted events to open up the conversation about women’s rights and waxed lyrical on the topic for Lena Dunham’s trailblazing Lenny Letter in October 2015.

After spending time in Budapest while filming spy thriller movie Red Sparrow with co-star Joel Edgerton, Jennifer has now returned to America to begin work on her next project.
