Topshop have announced that the new face of their summer campaign is Dutch model Luna Bijl. The 19-year-old, whose portfolio includes Vogue Paris, a Chloe campaign and Armani, is the latest beauty to join the British high-street brand. Before she became an international model, Luna was a motocross racer, and often takes to her Instagram pages to share photos of herself on her bike.
Luna has also walked the runway for a variety of fashion power houses, including Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, and of course Topshop Unique. Earlier this year, she was featured twice on the cover of Vogue's French edition - something she described as "every model's dream". She said: "They didn't tell me I was going to be on the cover. For me it was just as big a surprise as for everyone else; I got emotional the first time I saw the pictures." The teenager added: "The team was so supportive I felt really comfortable, I wasn’t nervous. They let me do my thing and it really worked out."

Luna also revealed her gratitude at getting the opportunity to work with several stars from the fashion world. She explained: "You hear about these people and you see these people, and it’s special to finally meet them in real life. I respect all my colleagues, if you're well known or not known, everyone works hard. To be with the people who've done this for years, though, is special; it gives you confidence."

The Dutch beauty, who was shortlisted as one of Models.com's breakout stars of last year, also has an adventurous side. Speaking about her favourite summertime hobby, she told Topshop's blog: "We have a boat, so I'm going to spend a lot of time on the water with my friends back at home." But when it comes to her fashion in the warmer months, she shared: "I live in mini dresses in the summer! My bikini and a mini dress on top. Or the occasional maxi dress."
