This is the season of the asymmetric dress. From sleeveless numbers with ruffle detailing, to soirée-ready lace pieces, eschew straight-cut styles this spring and get ready to embrace uneven hemlines.
With both designer and high-street labels championing the trend, off-kilter dresses are set to dominate wardrobes for the foreseeable. Mulberry sent stripe-adorned asymmetric styles down the runway for SS17, Diane von Furstenburg showcased print-heavy pieces with irregular hems and models at Marni donned dresses with carefully crafted pleats that fell at an angle on the calf.
Since asymmetry breaks up the silhouette, it has impressive limb-lengthening abilities, making dresses with uneven hems incredibly flattering. The style has already been spotted on celebrities such as Hailey Baldwin and Lottie Moss.
