Holly Willoughby is loved for her playful approach to style. Her enviable wardrobe is packed full of sophisticated, summer-ready pieces that not only look great in the studio but while she's out and about in London as well. Many of us would love to emulate the fashion-forward presenter's impeccable outfits and with this in mind, we've created a six-step guide to achieveing an on-trend, Holly-esque look.

Here's how to dress like Holly Willoughby this season...

femin

Pick oh-so-feminine silhouettes

Holly loves to wear ultra-feminine pieces that draw attention to her slim yet shapely figure. From curve-hugging printed dresses nipped in at the waist to tailored separates that emphasise her assets, she knows how to showcase her shape beautifully.

To emulate Holly's choice of silhouette, look for form-fitting pencil skirts in lightweight fabrics, simple V-neck tops and pretty tea dresses in A-line shapes. Wide belts that sit high on the waist can also work wonders with regard to drawing the eye in and creating a flattering hourglass shape.

floral

Get playful with prints

Holly likes to mix things up when it comes to her outfits and many of her favourite pieces feature striking prints in vibrant, statement-making colours. Recently she's been spotted in a strapless white Whistles dress with ruffle detailing and an all-over burgundy-hued botanical print, and a khaki Marks & Spencers skirt with a bold monochrome motif.

If the thought of stepping out in a head-to-toe printed look fills you with a sense of dread, ease into the look with a pair of ditzy floral ballet pumps or a silk scarf with a playful polka dot design.

Make the most of the British high street

It's no secret that Holly is a huge fan of British high street labels. From Marks & Spencer and Topshop to L.K. Bennett and Oasis, it's not unusual for the 36-year-old presenter to be dressed head-to-toe in affordable high street pieces.

Topshop and Next are great choices for fashion-forward dresses in an array of figure-flattering shapes, while L.K. Bennett and Reiss are loved for their slightly more structured pieces that work well for formal occasions and in the office.

shirt

Embrace the power of a white shirt

Since many of Holly's looks involve a colour pop skirt or a pair of high-waisted trousers, a well-fitting white shirt is one of her wardrobe staples. The stylish presenter tends to tuck her shirts into whatever she's wearing on her bottom half in order to streamline her silhouette and emphasise her slim, hourglass shape.

A white shirt is a wonderfully versatile piece that can be dressed up or down according to the occasion. It's well worth investing in two or three different versions - an ultra-simple, tailored style, a vintage-inspired creation with ruffle detailing and a loose-fitting silk design.

heels

Add a pair of heeled pumps

Mum-of-three Holly often elevates her day-to-day looks with a pair of simple yet sophisticated heeled court shoes. Having stepped out recently in a dusty pink suede pair by Office and a pair of bright fuchsia head-turners from Dune London, she's well aware of the fact that a great pair of stilettos can pull a look together brilliantly.

Whether you're wearing a pared-back jeans and shirt combination or a colour pop midi dress, a pair of heeled courts will lift the entire ensemble, making your look work even harder and giving you an extra spring in your step.

smile

Accessorise with a smile

No matter what she's wearing, the This Morning presenter always makes sure to accessorise with a gorgeous, white-toothed grin. Whether she's in front of the camera alongside co-star Philip Schofield or out and about near her London home, you'll rarely see Holly without a warm smile on her face.

Follow Holly's lead on the smile front and you may well end up looking more youthful in the process. Studies have revealed that smiling could have you looking several years younger in an instant. A set of pearly white teeth certainly helps but it's the happy expression in general that gives you a fresher, more radiant appearance, researchers from Berlin's Max Planck Institute have found.
