Met Gala co-chair Katy Perry pumped up the volume on her upcoming album Witness by donning a booming red gown dedicated to the LP. The pop star stepped onto the red carpet at the high-profile New York City event on Monday night in a custom ruffled Margiela by John Galliano gown complete with a long train and a lace veil with the word Witness spelled out on the headpiece, which was made out of metal coil springs and two side mirrors.

Katy Perry wore a red John Galliano gown to this year's Met Gala
Although Katy chose to go out-of-the-box with her look, the singer's fellow co-chairs, supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her NFL husband Tom Brady, wore toned down outfits in comparison, although their shiny ensembles still glittered for the flashing cameras. Brazilian bombshell Gisele donned a floor-length sparkly silver gown with long-sleeves and a back cutout designed by Stella McCartney as she shared kisses with her dapper spouse on the red carpet. Tom matched his wife's pewter-coloured look, made of certified organic silk, by donning a dazzling velvet grey Tom Ford jacket as part of an elegant touch to his classic black and white tuxedo ensemble, which was made complete with a basic black bowtie.

Meanwhile, other celebrities took Katy's lead and tapped into the event's wildly creative theme based on the fashion designs created by Japanese atelier Rei Kawakubo, which are being showcased in the Met Museum's current Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between exhibit.
The singer stunning dress was dedicated to the album Witness
Will Smith's actor son Jaden Smith wore his chopped off dreadlocks, which he recently shaved for upcoming movie Life in a Year, as a huge bouquet accessory to his futuristic fitted all-black Louis Vuitton suit. Jaden embraced his inner superhero with gold teeth, a caped coat and he also made a scene by bumping music from a speaker as walked the red carpet.
Finally, Jaden's ex-girlfriend Kylie Jenner went platinum blonde for the evening, which is hosted annually by U.S. Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Kylie's bob hairstyle mirrored Italian designer Donatella Versace's look as they stunned in metallic Versace gowns as each other's dates for the night.
