Bella Hadid had to be sewn into the sleek bodysuit she wore to the 2017 Met Gala. The American fashion model made her third appearance at the annual event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York on Monday night. Bella wore a very sheer black crocheted off-the-shoulder bodysuit by designer Alexander Wang, whom she brought as her date. The 20-year-old finished the ensemble with a bright red manicure, large diamond snake bracelets on both wrists and a new blunt, bob-style haircut.

When creating the model's outfit, Alexander Wang shared that he was deeply inspired by the theme of the gala, which was the work of Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo, who founded the label Comme des Garcons.
Bella Hadid stunned in an Alexander Wang bodysuit
"It was exciting to do a bodysuit for the Met, because I felt that it was something that hasn't been explored," he told Vogue.com, adding that the garment had to be hand sewn onto Bella. "This look is a more amplified version (of a catsuit from the fall/winter 2017 collection), done in lace with allover beading and embroidery down to the shoe... And (it) really shows off Bella's incredible body."
And Bella added that she was won over by the designer's cutting-edge creation from the beginning. While most celebrities wear gowns to the event, the brunette beauty was totally on board with veering away from tradition.
"I love a sexy look, so I knew Alex was going to do that for me," she shared. "When I saw the sketch it was exactly what he told me and what we envisioned!"

Meanwhile, Bella's older sister Gigi Hadid also made a serious style statement at the bash. The star sported an asymmetrical Tommy Hilfiger dress with a tulle skirt, but it was her bleached out eyebrows which really caught attention.
Gigi's make-up artist Erin Parsons describes the look as a "whisper" brow, and lightened her eyebrows by using blonde brow pencils from Maybelline.
