Prada unveiled an eclectic range of designs for its Resort 2018 presentation. Designer Miuccia Prada showed her first-ever resort collection for the Italian fashion house on Sunday, presenting the line at the Fondazione Prada Osservatorio exhibition space.

The new collection drew in a number of celebrities, with the likes of Susan Sarandon, Courtney Love and Bianca Jagger all perched on the front row. When it came to the clothes, Prada sent models out in pieces which juxtaposed sportswear with super feminine embellishment, such as crystals and feathers in pastel colours.

The show opened with a model sporting a black chiffon skirt, black coat with puffed sleeves and flat pointed leather shoes which were matched with lavender-hued football socks. What followed was a line-up of feminine numbers, including a white and pastel pink shirt dress, a white dress with transparent panels in the sleeves and white feathers placed on the skirt, as well as a pale green skirt dress patterned with images of rabbits. Prada also showed a range of very wearable dresses and skirts, including a mint green pleated skirt matched with a ballerina pink ruffled top and a transparent lavender dress with a flowing skirt. An A-line skirt embellished with large silver sequins was a standout, as were a number of sturdy-looking black coats.

Prada placed a focus on footwear too, with models wearing chunky white sneakers or sandals with geometric straps. There were also leather sandals in pastel shades and open-toe high heels with silver and black straps.

When it came to her debut Resort line, Miuccia explained she had a very specific idea in mind. "I wanted to do a modernist show, then we had this place, and the lightness and the industrial were very much inspiring," she told WWD after the show.
