Primark has been giving designers a run for their money recently, and shoppers around the globe are desperately trying to get their hands on a pair of the high street favourite’s latest offering – the ‘embroidery crush’ platform wedges, featured on the store's Instagram account this week.

The stunning design is retailing for an ultra-affordable £18 and customers have the choice of two styles – classic black and summer-ready turquoise, both of which are adorned with delicate floral embroidery detailing. The on-trend shoes seem to have been influenced by Dolce & Gabbana’s floral print sandals which retail at a slightly more purse-tightening £682, sold on YOOX. With this in mind, there is even more to adore.

Primark's floral adorned platforms have been a huge hit with shoppers

Writing beside the newly released picture on Primark’s social media account, one shopper was already planning what to wear the shoes with: “if I find a prom dress that would go with the black ones I'm buying them,” while another hinted: “It’s my birthday soon.” And it is easy to see why Primark was inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s design. The Italian fashion house’s own version feature a wedge heel adorned with floral prints in hues of pink and forest green.

Dolce & Gabbana's stunning but slightly more costly version

Earlier in the month, Primark took inspiration by another high-end fashion house, unveiling a new pair of bow-adorned backless mules influenced by Prada’s ultra-covetable velvet slipper shoe selling for a more costly £475.

This isn’t the first time the high-street favourite has pulled out all the stops. Recently, Primark caused a stir in the beauty world with its new sell-out £4 PRISM Glitter Obsessed eye shadow palette. With 28 dreamy shades, there are a few silver and gold toned shades thrown in for good measure, along with hues of lilac and blue, and a clear, glitter-packed gloss.

The high street store is also making waves in the fashion world at the moment with its new mini-me collection designed for mothers and daughters. The range includes an array of gorgeous designs in little and large sizes. Previews of the line-up show an abundance of cool embroidered dungarees, billowy gypsy blouses in light blue and white and ultra-versatile denim shirt dresses.
