H&M has collaborated with pop sensation Zara Larsson to create a must-have capsule collection inspired by the Swedish singer’s fashion-forward style. The collection, which is out on 18 May, offers a vast range of playful pieces with empowering feminist messages emblazoned across oversized hoodies and t-shirt dresses, along with ultra-cool crop tees and body-con shorts also in the mix.

The youthful designs experiment with fun fabrics, seeing velour and mesh incorporated with denims and cotton jersey. The eclectic colour palette of metallic silver, black and pinks was carefully selected by Zara, who had a huge presence throughout the design process. Pink, one of her favourite colours, was specifically chosen because: “It’s feminine, powerful and everyone looks good in it,” she said.

Discussing her collection, Zara, one of Time Magazine’s '30 Most Influential Teens of 2016', said: “I have had so much fun working with [H&M] to design pieces and create a campaign that reflects my personality. I can’t wait to see how girls everywhere wear the pieces to add to their own personal style.”

And H&M isn’t the only fashion brand to unveil an exciting collaboration of late. Last month, Toms and & Other Stories joined forces to create a beautiful 26-piece ready-to-wear charity collection, offering an eclectic mix of embroidered tunic dresses, billowy gypsy blouses and lace-up moccasins that reflect the relaxed, carefree Californian lifestyle. With each item of clothing sold, & Other Stories promises to fund a month of English language classes, while Toms will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair purchased.

Meanwhile, Monki, the ‘younger sibling’ of the H&M group, have also been exciting shoppers with its new ethical fashion campaign. The brand, who are on a mission to only use recycled or sustainably sourced materials by 2030, launched its debut environmentally friendly campaign – Monki Cares last month.

The fashion-forward Swedish label wants to help reduce climate change and is actively encouraging customers to do the same. Online, the store revealed it’s plans to help minimise environmental damages by only using 100% organic and sustainably sourced cotton. It also aims to recycle materials such as wool and polyester. The brand even lists a “no-go” material list, which includes PVC, fur, angora, merino wool and any rainforest products.
