Shopping for overpriced jeans inspired Sheryl Crow's to step into the fashion industry. The rocker launched her new clothing line for Home Shopping Network (HSN) earlier this year and admits she is proud to help dress aspiring rock stars who want to look the part on a budget.
"There was a day and age when rock stars looked like rock stars and other people didn't," Sheryl chuckles to Redbook. "Now that fashion is going the way of everybody looking like a rock star, it's fun to be able to say, 'Great, but who wants to pay $350 for a pair of jeans?' Even I don't want to pay that!"

Crow was assisted by Lyric Culture brand founder Hanna Rochelle as she designed clothes for the first time, noting the veteran fashionista gave her the idea for infusing her personal rock star flair into items.
"The woman who runs the brand Lyric Culture said to me, 'You have such empowering lyrics - we could do something cool,' so we designed jeans and T-shirts and all kinds of stuff that has lyrics embroidered on it," she recalls.
The jeans, boots, T-shirts, jackets and other items that are part of Sheryl's HSN apparel line range in price from $39.90 (£31) to $299.90 (£231) and are based on clothes that can be found in the rock star's closet at home.
"We (my design team and I) went into my closet actually - and my closet is just ridiculous," she previously explained to People. "I have everything that I've worn on stage, and it's a lot (after) 27 years of touring.
"We just (went) through, I picked out my favourite pieces and we were able to take them and do a new twist. We just took a lot of the stuff I love and did a new take on it."
