Sarah Jessica Parker is an ultimate style icon, known to millions around the world as her alter-ego, Carrie Bradshaw. And it seems that Carrie has played a key role in the 52-yaer-old’s latest offering in the fashion world – her ultra-glitzy SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker Meteor Glitter T-Strap Flats. The Sex and the City star, who often wears heels, has opted to create a comfortable, everyday footwear design in her eponymous fashion label, retailing at £205.

Online at Bloomingdales, the feminine shoes have already sold out – and it is easy to see why, with the gorgeous Italian-made design featuring cool cut-out detailing at the forefoot and luxurious leather lining. Those lucky enough to get their hands on a pair have the choice of four colours – glitter, black leather, gold metallic and denim – swoon.

Announcing the shoes on Instagram to her followers, Sarah posted video of the footwear in action, walking along the street in full glitzy glory, as did the official SJP Collection page, who described them as: "Cool and endlessly comfortable." Followers enthused over the new trainers, with one writing: "Those are really, really cute," while others frantically enquired where they could get a pair of the sell-out design: "Looked at all sites and can’t find them?" Another asked: "Will this be back in stock in stores?"

Sarah’s style both in real life and in Sex and the City is the envy of many. Recently, the show’s costume designer Patricia Field revealed that Carrie’s iconic tutu in the opening credits was discovered in a showroom bin, costing just £4. After becoming such a covetable piece, Patricia went on to create her own version, selling on her eponymous website for around £115.

The designer made the revelation as she spoke about her impressive career with former CFDA director Fern Mallis, and also gave her opinion on what any Sex and the City sequels need to consider to be a success. "Even if you create the original, it's hard to knock yourself off. The original is what makes it. But I really do believe if they want to do a Sex and the City, they need to do it with four gorgeous, young, sexy, juicy girls that love to wear clothes."
