Gigi Hadid has stunned fans by rocking a faux pixie cut in Stuart Weitzman's latest campaign. The Los Angeles-born model is known for her chic personal style and long blonde hair, which she has dyed a range of warm hues over the last couple of months.
But there has been nothing subtle about her latest look, as in Weitzman's fall/winter 2017 advertising Gigi sports a short, choppy cut courtesy of a gamine-style hair piece.
"Gigi takes on a whole new look, capped in a fabulous Shay Ashual wig that obscures her famed tousled golden locks and will have people asking: did she or didn't she?" the brand said in a statement. "Gigi's stylish faux-pixie, inspired by Jean Seberg's character in the 1960's French movie classic Breathless, puts a chic and modern twist on her fourth consecutive Stuart Weitzman campaign."
In the marketing imagery, shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino in black and white, the 22-year-old poses in the stretch over-the-knee Tiemodel boot and the Cling ankle boot.
The two styles of boot are now available for sale and pre-order on the footwear and accessories brand's website, with the international advertising campaign to launch in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia.
Yet, the campaign isn't the first time Gigi has tried out short hair. On April Fools' Day this year she posted a photo on social media showing her with a cropped style.
While her followers were quick to praise her daring look, the model later confirmed that she had merely had her locks pinned back as a joke.
A whole crop of celebrities have been trying out the pixie trend of late, with the likes of Katy Perry and Zoe Kravitz sporting chic platinum blonde coifs.
