Queen Letizia rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to style, and is considered, along with the Duchess of Cambridge, as one of the most fashionable royals in the world. Despite having the biggest names in fashion desperate to dress her, the down-to-earth queen has been known to recycle her favourite looks. Such was the case on Wednesday, when the 44-year-old stepped out in Cantabria wearing a Hugo Boss top which she had previously worn to the Accion Magistral Awards in Madrid back in 2016. The sleeveless design was adorned with a chic grid pattern and featured a flared, peplum-inspired hem. The timeless piece cost £220, and looked fabulous teamed with a pair of coordinating cigarette trousers. Letizia completed her ensemble with a pair of leg-lengthening nude court shoes.

Beauty-wise, Letizia wore her long, honey-hued hair down in a sleek, straight ‘do and styled in a side parting. When it came to make-up, the mother-of-two kept things natural, with a natural foundation, subtle sweep of bronzer and a smoky eye to complete her look.

Letizia, who along with her husband King Felipe VI, was visiting the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana, where the royal couple received a warm welcome from well-wishers, with one mother even handing Letizia her baby for a cuddle.

Over the years, royal onlookers have compared the remarkable similarities between Letizia and Duchess Kate, who too recycles many of her favourite pieces when out and about on royal engagements. The royal women are both fans of the high street – in particular British brand Topshop.

During her royal visit to the UK earlier in July, Letizia chose to wear a blush coloured £80 prom style skirt by the designer, which had been reduced to a purse-friendly £30 in the sale.

Kate, who has long been renowned for her ability to mix high street and designer fashion, has also been spotted in a number of Topshop items. During the royal tour of India and Bhutan in April 2016, Kate modelled a stunning pink Topshop dress with intricate black embroidering, and added a touch of sparkle to the look with her bargain £8 earrings from Accessorize.
