Cara Delevingne and Lily-Rose Depp have long been two of Karl Lagerfeld's favourite muses, so it comes as no surprise that the model duo were chosen to front Chanel's latest AW17 campaign. Shot by Karl himself, a space-age theme runs throughout the monochrome series of images. Lily-Rose, the 18-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp, posted a selection of the photos on her Instagram account, including an ultra-cool black-and-white shot of the teenager and Cara, 24, co-ordinating in oversized black hoodies. Fitting with the theme, both were emblazoned with astronaut motifs.

Captioning the shot, Lily-Rose wrote: "@caradelevingne @chanelofficial (love heart emoji)." Fans of the model were quick to praise the picture, with one writing: "This is perfection," while another added: "You look so beautiful." In another image, Lily-Rose stands alone wearing billowy off-the-shoulder sleeves embellished with diamond studs, and in another shot, a oversized high neck short-sleeved blouse embellished with crystals.

Cara, who has taken a back seat in modelling to pursue other creative projects, including acting, couldn't have starred in a more fitting campaign. This week, the 24-year-old has been dazzling fashion onlookers with her futuristic fashion ensembles as she promotes her new film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, in which she plays lead role Laureline. While at the film's premiere in Hollywood last Monday, Cara turned heads in a metallic silver dress by Iris Van Herpen. The semi-sheer design featured intricate zig-zag patterns and was teamed with matching strappy heels. To complete her look, Cara styled her newly-cropped platinum blonde hair in retro-inspired curls.

Back in 2013, Cara praised Karl for supporting her move to acting, which included casting her in a short film alongside Pharrell Williams because he knew she wanted to pursue a career in Hollywood. "He's always known that I've wanted to act," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "He was very nice to put me in his fashion film. And he knew I wanted to do music so he let me do that as well. He's been nothing but supportive."
