Ralph & Russo will show its very first ready-to-wear line at London Fashion Week in September. The brand, headed up by Michael Russo and Tamara Ralph, is normally a Paris Couture Fashion Week favourite, with their intricate and jaw-dropping designs also garnering a whole host of A-list fans, like Kate Bosworth, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jourdan Dunn. It's now moving into RTW design, and the British brand will show in its home city next month.
Ralph & Russo are fans with a number of A list stars
"With London being a cosmopolitan hub, we couldn't think of a better place to launch our first ready-to-wear offering," Russo said in a statement. "We continue to listen to the demand of our customer and the market, which will continue to fuel the expansion of the R&R product and universe."
Fans of the luxury label can expect to see Ralph and Russo's signature touches in the more everyday clothes, though the designers are looking forward to branching out to a broader audience with their debut RTW collection.
The fashion label is renowned for its intricate pieces - and is now expanding to RTW
"(The) first RTW collection will remain true to its brand DNA and heritage whilst expressing itself as an independent extension of the Ralph & Russo offering," they shared.
Other designers to be added to the London calendar are Giorgio Armani and Tommy Hilfiger. Fashion Month will kick off in New York on 7 September, before moving to London, and then Milan and Paris.
Accordingly, British Fashion Council chief executive officer Caroline Rush can't wait to welcome Ralph and Russo into the fold.
"(I'm) delighted to welcome Ralph & Russo to the London Fashion Week schedule. The craftsmanship behind their couture collection is a shining example of Britain's artisanal heritage, and I'm excited to see their debut ready-to-wear collection," she praised.
