Queen Maxima put on a brave face on Tuesday as she undertook her first royal duty since the death of her father, Jorge Zorreguieta. The 46-year-old was visiting the Jessehof homeless centre in Delft, and was all smiles as she chatted to residents. The Dutch queen looked beautiful in a vibrant summer dress emblazoned with a tie dye pattern in hues of pink, yellow and navy. The fashionable design featured a lemon yellow waist belt and elbow sleeves, and was teamed with vibrant pink heels, that co-ordinated with a pair of statement earrings.

Maxima's sandy blonde hair was styled in a sleek, straight 'do in an off-side parting, and the mother-of-three opted for a natural make-up look. A glowy base and sweep of rose-hued blusher enhanced her complexion, and a subtle outline of black liner enhanced her large, brown eyes.

Earlier in the week, Maxima released a heartfelt statement, thanking the public for its support following the death of her father, who sadly passed away on 8 August following a battle of cancer. The statement, which was on behalf of herself and her husband King Willem-Alexander, said: "We would like to express our sincere thanks for all the messages of support we have received after the death of my father, father-in-law and grandfather of our children. Your compassion has been a great source of support to us."

The Dutch queen had flown to her home country, Argentina, in the days before her father's death. Her husband and their three children – Princesses Amalia, 13, Alexia, 12, and Ariane, ten – followed, taking a private plane from the Netherlands and arriving on the day of the funeral.
