Primark has been at the centre of an ongoing debate for some time now, with shoppers divided in how to pronounce the popular high street store. While some call it "Pry-mark", others believe it to be "Pree-mark". To settle the debate once and for all, Primark has unveiled a fun new slogan T-shirt on Instagram stories, that has the phonetic spelling of the store emblazoned on it (Pr-eye-mark). The £5 design is available in selected stores across the UK, including Manchester, Oxford Street, Liverpool and Lakeside.

Primark debuted its fun new T-shirt on Instagram stories

Earlier in the month, Primark officially set the record straight on how to pronounce its name on the store's website. The correct answer was confirmed on the Customer Service section in a box titled: "How do you pronounce Primark?" Which was then confirmed to be "Pre-Eye-Mark."

The £5 design is sure to be a hit with Primark fans

Following the announcement, shoppers flocked to Twitter with very mixed views! " Can't deal with Primark coming out and saying it's pronounced Pr-eye-mark, it's Preemark u r wrong," wrote one. "Don't even care what Primark says, it will always be pronounced Pree-mark in my heart," another added. Others were revealed they had been saying it the right way. "I cringe a lot inside when my aunt says Preemark," a third said.

The high street store has been causing quite the storm on social media, of late. As soon as a new item is released on Instagram, fans around the world flock to the comments section, desperate to get their hands on the latest must-have piece, which have included everything from designer-inspired footwear to a fabulous Harry Potter range. But as revealed previously, the best store to shop in is Primark's Tottenham Court Road branch.

Placed conveniently in the heart of central London, the flagship store opened back in 2012 – and is built over three buildings. The impressively large shop boasts four floors rammed with the latest stock, including limited edition lines, a LED lift wall showcasing the latest campaigns and even a café – an ideal spot to congregate mid-shop for a caffeine fix.
