Oscar de la Renta has offered up a line of bold colours and strong silhouettes for spring/summer 2018. Presenting as part of New York Fashion Week on Monday night, designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia unveiled their latest line for the fashion house, with celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Zosia Mamet, Natasha Poly and Paris Hilton all perched on the front row.
Taking inspiration from art and the painter's palette, model Mariacarla Boscono opened the show wearing a white shirt dress which was splattered with colourful sequins and matched with clear PVC high heels with painted detailing. Charlee Fraser followed in a similar outfit, though she wore a crisp white jacket and pencil skirt with thigh-high split.

Kim and Garcia, who also head up fashion house Monse, also broke de la Renta tradition by including denim garments in the range, with a jean jacket and skirt combination that were dotted with clusters of white sequins.

Bella Hadid rocked the runway in a navy blue smock-style shirt which was paired with shorts, while another model wore a denim-on-denim outfit and carried a white faux fur coat which was sprawled with Oscar de la Renta's signature. The designers also included a red heart motif as a theme throughout the line, with the element evident on white T-shirts and cream knitwear jumpers.
The ready-to-wear collection featured boxy oversize blazers and mid-length dresses, all in blocked colours, such as lemon yellow, a dark teal, candy pink and scarlet red.

But Kim and Garcia really ramped up the glamour when it came to the gown section of the catwalk show, unveiling a white paint splattered gown with black crossover shoulder strap, a white minidress with a collage of sequins and signature prints, and a sheer black gown with a pastiche of black, red and pink prints and painterly brushstrokes swiped across the fabric.
