Kristin Cavallari is certain that she started the choker trend during her days on TV show Laguna Beach.The 30-year-old beauty first found fame on the MTV series but has now made a name for herself as something of a fashionista.
One trend that everyone seems to be sporting recently is that of the choker, but Kristin believes she kicked off that particular accessory's popularity during her time on the small screen.
"I like to think (I started the trend) in my Laguna days," she told Us Weekly as she attended the West Hollywood pop-up launching the fall/winter collection of her jewellery brand Uncommon James. "I wore this black suede band essentially and never took it off and that's cool now! Everything comes back around."

Kristin has now come up with a new take on the trend, designing delicate gold chokers for Uncommon James. And she thinks the key to updating the choker is to layer it with other necklaces.
"I love layering," the blonde beauty smiled. "I'm such a huge choker fan. I love that they're such a hot trend. I love doing it in a more subtle, minimalistic way."
As a mother of three young children, Kristin can usually be found wearing casual ensembles consisting of leggings and loose tops. So, when it comes to heading out on the town with husband Jay Cutler, Kristin enjoys dressing to impress.

"Depends on where we're going, but you know, because I literally live in leggings and either sneakers or whatever Birkenstocks, so it's nice to get dressed up," she said. "It's nice to put on a dress. It's nice to feel like a woman and feel sexy, so a skirt and maybe a bodysuit or a dress usually."
